Digital Studio Assistant


Part-time initially, with the possibility of developing into a full-time role

Employment: Freelance, for an initial three-month period, with the possibility of
becoming an employee

18 months ago the company entered into a distribution agreement with a London-based
furnishings company, Watts of Westminster and is currently in a period of growth. All
our products are printed to order, and whilst we have a range of standardised products
the vast majority of our work remains bespoke, requiring the creation of tailored image
files. To facilitate this period of growth the company needs an additional pair of hands to
assist the Director and the Graphic Designer in the production of print files and
marketing materials.

Main duties:

The preparation of image print files for submission to our printers
The preparation of Purchase Orders for our printers and finishers
Monitoring the production process of each job, ensuring that deadlines are met
The creation of ‘product sheets’ for each new standard product, containing precise details such as measurements, drop layouts and technical specifications
Preparing visual elevations to support our sales team

Essential qualities:

IT skills, specifically Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office (all Mac based)
Ability to focus and maintain a high level of attention to detail
Methodical way of working
Good communication skills, both verbal and written

Desirable qualities:

Experience of carrying out similar work
Knowledge or experience of the interiors / design / print industry
Experience of working in a creative environment


The studio is based within the Director’s home, in a barn conversion in the village of Edge
(GL6 6NJ). Although it is possible to commute by public transport, we are based in a very
rural location and therefore applicants should consider travel arrangements before
