Leeds Castle Aubusson
A set of five Aubusson tapestries from the Green Dining Room at Leeds Castle. These tapestries are believed to be from Aubusson, France, where they produced mainly large decorative wall hangings. The Leeds Castle tapestries depict pastoral scenes bordered by Ionic columns and swags of flowers. Large legends hang from the architrave, containing musical instruments, farming tools and further flowers. The original tapestries have proved to have great versatility and have been much developed by the Zardi & Zardi designers and are therefore are now available in many more variations. Height: 250 cm.
