Verdure with Birds & Arbour
Selected from the Victoria and Albert Museum’s collection, this elegant verdure tapestry is one of our most popular designs. The verdure format is a classic tapestry style originating from France and Belgium in the 17th and 18th centuries. With their focus on verdant landscapes depicting flora and fauna, verdure tapestries adorned interiors before the arrival of wallpaper. The V&A’s tapestry was possibly woven by Raphael de la Planche in Paris around 1625–60.
From the original tapestry we have created a Panorama available with and without border. A beautiful crop suitable for upholstering a bedhead, selected drops well suited for curtains and a complimentary repeat pattern Verdure with Birds - Arbour.
